An access log is a complete list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a given site. Every file that was requested for whatever reason will be listed, so if you have a single webpage with 3 embedded graphics, one video and one embedded text file, as an example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for any of the six files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s OS, Internet browser and IP address. Occasionally you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The data which an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a personal computer and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of a site, besides the web statistics that your server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Website Hosting

If you pick one of our cloud website hosting plans, you will receive in-depth access logs for your Internet sites. After you sign in to your Hepsia CP, you should check out the Access/Error Logs section where you will see a full list of the domain names and subdomains that you have added or created inside the web hosting account. You will simply have to click on the On button, that's found on the right-hand side of each and every hostname and our cloud platform will start generating logs straight away. To stop this feature, you'll have to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains can be handled independently and whenever you want. You can find a download link in the Logs section of the CP for every log created by our system, so that you can save the file to your PC and view it or use it via some log processing software.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you host your sites in a semi-dedicated server account with us, you'll have the option to activate or deactivate the generation of access logs with just a few mouse clicks from your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You will find this feature inside the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access as soon as you sign in. All it takes for our system to start creating logs is one click on the On button which you can see there. The feature can be activated independently for any Internet site regardless of whether it uses a domain name or a subdomain and you'll find a detailed list of all the hosts inside that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with only a click and you could then look at it manually or use some software on your computer. The log generation could be disabled by simply switching the On option to Off in the Logs section of your Control Panel.
